Dr. Sami Noujaim strives to understand the molecular mechanisms of deadly heart rhythm disorders.  Currently a University of Michigan and American Heart Association funded researcher, his goal is to improve existing heart therapies and research new ones.

Less than 5 percent of sudden cardiac arrest victims survive because the vast majority of those witnessing the arrest are people who do not know how to perform CPR.
