Since Go Red For Women ignited in 2004, it has encouraged awareness of the issue of women and heart disease, and to take action to save more lives across all generations. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power of women; empowering you to take charge of your own heart health and that of others in your community.
Circle of Red members make a significant personal gift annually to support the Go Red For Women movement and serve as ambassadors for the cause. For an increased gift, members can join the Crimson Society, an elite level of Circle of Red.
Men Go Red is a group of men who are dedicated to the fight against heart disease of women. They stand together to support the women in their lives in their journey to longer, stronger lives and better heart health & they support the mission of Go Red For Women® by making a personal financial commitment to the movement.
A vital part of the Go Red For Women mission is our Circle of Red/Men Go Red (COR/MGR) supporters, women and men who have banded together using their voices in the fight to wipe out heart disease. Their personal commitment supported 1500+ local women in Southwest Michigan through educational programs to understand their risk. Provided tools and motivation to over 4000+ women and men through Healthy for Good initiatives in Southwest Michigan to help reduce those risks and protect their heart and brain health, as well as learning life saving CPR. Reaching out to women in high risk categories and underserved areas and we are excited to see the new Go Red Goes STEM initiative for young women. Support means 285 fewer women are dying from heart disease and stroke each day, but the fight is far from over.
Our community is a special place and we have an opportunity to continue to make an even greater local impact. As the 2018 chairs our goal is to achieve the largest COR/MGR membership in the Midwest: 107 members by 2/10/18. Once achieved, we will gift 2-CPR in Schools kits locally, helping to train thousands of young people to save lives. They will be trained in Hands Only CPR, AED and Choking Hazard Rescue; supporting a legacy of local lifesavers! As a member you can nominate a school in Southwest Michigan for consideration.
